Artist Cathy Broski begins each sculpture with clay cones or cylinders. When each piece is completed, the surface is carved and let dry. The base color is applied and fired. Once the first firing is complete, glazes are carefully applied and wiped away to create this beautiful weathered look. The piece is once again fired and the process is repeated until the desired effect is achieved.
